So, we are proud to introduce a Night School course for Doctors, Dentists & Nurses (prescribers and non-prescribers). This course involves the completion of 6-8 hours of self-studied, online modules then attendance for an evening of Q&A and a simulated clinic, practicing on real, live patients under the direction of Dr Michael D Aicken.
The format is a little different from the courses we have put on in Belfast to date. Rather than having a morning of tutorial/lectures and an afternoon of clinics, it’s going to be 6-8 hours of online self-study modules which consist of videos, slides & some reading material and self-tests AND THEN a buffet- dinner & 4-hour face-to-face teaching session in the Park Avenue Hotel in Belfast. This takes place from 17:30-22:00.
Once we receive your course payment we’ll send you the login details for the online content so that you can get started. The online content should take around 6-8 hours to complete- it’s a little more extensive than what we have on the usual courses; you can take a look at the online syllabus here.
Why do Anti-Wrinkle Toxin / fillers?
There is potential for a high gross margin. Patients currently spend £150-£1000 per visit and return 3-4 times per year.
There is little financial risk in you adding Cosmetic Injectables to your practice price list. Typically your dental indemnity will already cover you for Anti-Wrinkle Toxin / Dermal fillers- or at least can be extended to cover these with a relatively small additional premium. This course Meets the General Dental Council Educational Criteria for 8 Hours self-verifiable CPD.
For GPs (Doctors)
There is little financial risk in you adding Cosmetic Injectables to your practice price list. Typically your medical indemnity will already cover you for Anti-Wrinkle Toxin / Dermal fillers- or at least can be extended to cover these with a relatively small additional premium. As a GP this course may meet your own professional educational objectives or may simply help you extent the high-profit services offered by your practice. Note that there is precedent for GPs from ROI obtaining locum funding in order to offset the cost of attending this course; you should consider enquiring locally about this option.
Who are the trainers?
Dr. Michael David Aicken has been practicing Cosmetic Injectables for 10 years now and running this course, endorsed by Hamilton Fraser, Lonsdale Insurance, Cosmetic Insure and Cathedral Insurance for over 8 years. Michael setup the Visage Aesthetics UK LTD Franchise system which now supports and regulates six franchisees and employs four support staff. Michael has also, more recently founded Flourish, the Cosmetic Information Management App. He has experience using all of the major Anti-Wrinkle Toxin and Hyaluronic Acid products on the market. Michael has also written some in-depth ‘blog’ posts aimed at expert cosmetic injectable practitioners; these have since been commissioned for ‘repurposing’ within well-known cosmetic journals. Joining him on the Bangor course is Lorna Venus, a specialist nurse with 13 years experience in cosmetic injectables.
